What is Detailing?

Detailing is taking car care to the next level.It involves the careful correction and refinement of bodywork to remove swirling, scratches, marring and restore fading in paintwork, trim, headlights and wheels. This is done using a variety of machine polishing techniques and careful inspections of every inch of your vehicle.

Do not be fooled by anyone claiming they are a car detailer, it takes years to master and knowledge of paint depths, hardness and techniques are essential as in the wrong hands, machine polishing can cause serious damage to your vehicle. If you see someone advertising a cheap £100-150 service just take into consideration;

A professional detail involves the following to complete:

  • A minimum of 10-12 hours work on your vehicle with up to 30 or more hours work for full corrections.
  • A studio based treatment for your vehicle using extremely bright lighting and inspections of each and every inch of your vehicle for the ultimate treatment.
  • Paintwork decontamination to ensure your paintwork is not just surface but sub-surface cleansed prior to correction work.
  • Training and years of experience with the correct equipment for each individual vehicle.
  • Your car will have hundreds of paint depth readings taken to ensure each panel can be safely worked upon and has not had previous poor workmanship.
  • Multiple layers of professional grade paint protection to maintain the finish with the option to have a ceramic coating applied to your paintwork.

To ensure your vehicle is treated professionally and safely, you need a professional service. Our detailing packages start at £199 and by booking with Autogleam, in addition to the above you know that you will receive;

  • Aftercare packages, advice and products available from our detailing store.
